Saga Holland House Residency, Art Direction & Curation
Year: 2018 – 2019
We were the curators of the international artist in residence program of Saga Prefecture, Japan. We selected four Dutch artists from various fields. Our task was to give advice and support setting-up the residency, the production was done by Saga Prefecture. The artists were invited to create new work that was exhibited after their two month residency in a solo show. At the end of the year we made an overview exhibition, showing a selection of the work, and as our contribution we made the book ‘Looking for Saga’ that we presented during the closing ceremony in January 2019.
In February 2019 we presented the book and a fragment of the work at an exhibtion at the Lloyd hotel during Mono Japan, in collaboration with ‘Unagi No Nedoko’ a brand and distributor from Japan.
